Inventory Controller

Position Overview

This position is responsible for processing purchasing transactions and maintaining inventory of materials, equipment and stock. This position is also responsible for organizing, directing, and evaluating the ambulance fleet operations of IPS and HSE, under the General Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of the ambulance fleet for IPS & HSE

 

  • Ensure policies and standards are followed

 

  • Prepare gear for outgoing ambulances

 

  • Maintain, monitor, ensure the accuracy (correct numbers of supplies and properly functioning equipment) and log of all ingoing and outgoing inventory to the field.

 

  • Monitor inventory levels as materials, equipment, and stock are issued and transferred within IPS

 

  • Prepare and load all required inventory for outgoing jobs via Job Call Out sheet

 

  • Respond to all inventory requests and send out to appropriate location in a timely manner

 

  • Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers and prepare purchase orders

 

  • Calculate cost of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts

 

  • Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries/pickups and to resolve shortages or missed deliveries

 

  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and price lists

 

  • Compile inventory reports, recording the quantity, type and value or materials, equipment and stock on hand, using manual or computerized inventory systems

 

  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment, and stock

 

  • Maintain stock rotation and dispose of and account for outdated stock

 

  • Ensure all packages maintain sanitary integrity and meet quality standards

 

  • Maintain a level or order and cleanliness appropriate for a medical inventory store and conducive to orderly and efficient operations

 

  • Order new stock from suppliers via telephone, receive stock, put away and complete associated paperwork

 

  • Ensure all LP12’s and AEDs are in good condition and working order

 

  • Orientate New Hires to the medical kits and any inventory relative to their position. Additionally, issue coveralls and gear

 

  • Perform monthly drug inventory and coverall count

 

  • Reconcile physical inventories with computer counts

 

  • File all inventory paperwork accordingly

 

  • Determine "par" levels of supplies based on ongoing usage analysis

 

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure fleet supplies are gathered and sent out when appropriate

 

Requirements/Education

  • Completion of secondary school is required

 

  • Class 5 driver’s license

 

  • Courses in inventory management considered an asset

 

  • Medical designation is an asset (EMR, EMT, etc.)

 

Other Skills/ Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

 

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask

 

  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy

 

  • Basic office experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel, Word

 

  • Mechanically inclined and experience on vehicle maintenance is an asset

 

Working Conditions

  • Monday to Friday, 8-4:30.

 

  • This position is entitled to one hour of paid time for lunch

 

  • This position is frequently exposed to incoming calls and inquiries

 

  • May be required to work overtime on an as needed basis

 

  • Will be required to receive and respond to incoming calls on an as needed basis after hours

 

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. a maximum of 50 times per day

 

Supervision

  • Works under limited supervision

 

  • Reports to the Operations Manager

Base salary 50k depemdant on experience.

 


EMT-P, EMT-P Firefighter

We need Registered EMT-P/ACPs right away for steady work in Alberta and BC.  We also require certified EMT-P/firefighters (1001-level) for work in Alberta.
IPS will cover flight costs for ACPs/Paramedics flying in for their shift from outside of Alberta.

  • Workweeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Starting at 8am in the morning

Field Supervisor

Position Overview 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Field Supervisor is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and supervising the activities of the IPS field staff. He/she ensures all field personnel are working within the IPS philosophy, regulations and requirements while adhering to all health and safety practices, policies and procedures.

 

 

Essential job Functions

  • Supervise the activities of all IPS field personnel 
  • Medic vehicle inspections (Cleanliness, proper radio usage, etc.)  
  • Verify medical supplies, of onsite medics, are stored properly, in good working order and ready to use 
  • Tour rig and location with onsite medic for training purposes  
  • Act as onsite representative on behalf of IPS. Meet with Oil consultant and onsite managers 
  • Resolve onsite problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity 
  • Requisition and procure materials and supplies then deliver to onsite medics 
  • Train workers on-site in job duties, safety procedures and company policies 
  • Prepare production and other reports 
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed on site 
  • Maintenance of company-issued vehicle (oil changes, cleaning, etc.)  
  • Deliver and train medics on client-specific orientations  
  • Plan routes in accordance with logistics 
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to all IPS departments 
  • Recommend personnel actions to Human Resources such as hiring and promotions

 

Requirements / Education

  • Completion of secondary school is required 
  • Completion of medical services training, minimum OFA 3, is required  
  • H2S Alive certification  
  • First Aid Level 1 or C certification  
  • Drivers License Class 5 or G
